Our client is a Global Hedge Fund who is hiring L/s Japan Equity Research analysts for their Tokyo and HK teams

Mandatory experience (won't be considered otherwise):

• Buy-side or sellside Japan equity research experience (2-10 years) OR public equity valuation and modelling experience at Japan based BIG4 FAS or Rating Agencies (2-10 years)
• Native level Japanese proficiency (Non-Japanese nationals are welcome)

Ideal candidates:

• Current openings are focusing on candidates with equity research experience in any of the following sectors: JP/Asia TMT, JP Consumer (Retail focus), JP/Asia Tech Hardware, Asia/JP Industrials (Auto and Machinery focus)

Soft Requirements:

• Employ a solid work ethic
• Possess strong detail orientation
• Have a demonstrated passion for investing
• Have strong analytical, writing, verbal communication, and technical skills

General Responsibilities:

• Building and maintaining detailed company models
• Conducting diligence on specific stocks and industries
• Attending conferences and industry events, and reporting back with detailed information and data points
• Initiating and developing primary industry contacts
• Building relationships with the relevant sell side analysts, salespeople, and research associates
• Conducting industry and company-specific research
• Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all of your recommendation materials
• Supporting fundamental research into companies, industries, and sectors
• Reporting on topics such as general economic and industry-specific developments and trends
• The analyst will not be responsible for idea generation or specific stock recommendations initially, but will grow into an idea generator over the course of time
