Responsibilities Include:

• Performing detailed quantitative analyses of existing and potential investments
• Conducting deep primary research on fund manager and direct investment opportunities
• Performing ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies and potential investees
• Conducting due diligence on new fund and direct investments, including on-site visits
• Assisting with the development and testing of proprietary insights for internal investment strategy
• Creating performance reports and presentations to monitor investments
• Maintaining internal files on managers, partnerships, and co-investments

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in:

• global investment banks (with strong financial modelling and technical ablities)
• top strategy consulting firms (with experience in due diligence support and/or PMI)
• leading general trading companies (ideally with experience in cross-border projects)
• Strong academic credentials with a degree from a leading college or university (MBA preferred)
• Demonstrated track record of successful work experience
• Strong interest in investment management
• Intellectually curious with an unyielding desire to figure out how things work
• Highly analytical with primary research capability
• Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with quantitative tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, CapIQ)
• Extremely strong attention to detail
• Strong relationship-building skills and excellent communication skills with ability to concisely synthesize complicated analyses
• Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership
• Fluent Japanese
