Corporate M&A Manager
Role Description
- Sourcing of potential targets that fit the company’s investment criteria
- Project management: orchestrating all internal and external parties
- Preparing investment proposals for the investment committee
- Financial modelling to calculate possible purchase prices
- Presenting investment opportunities and defending them against challenging questions
- Produce accurate, high-quality research about target companies, including their historic performance, market positioning, strategy, etc…
- Working out the optimal financing structure of transactions
- Post-merger integration
- Regular post-investment reviews to reflect on the success of the transactions
Candidate Profile
- Hands-on M&A experience
- Strong analytical skills; able to consume large amounts of detailed information in order to make informed recommendations about a topic, a set of companies, or a market. Often this information will be detailed financial reports or be deeply technical in nature.
- Familiarity with consulting/services organizations and their operating models; a strong understanding of the growth triggers of a services business is extremely helpful in this role
- In terms of skills, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent written communication skills – a strong ability to present information in a clear and crisp manner + comfort in speaking up and forming/sharing his/her opinion
- Strong financial skills: corporate finance, valuation and/or financial modelling
- Creativity; he/she should be able to “think outside the box” to find information
- A “can-do” attitude; willingness to dig in and develop high-quality research
- Ability to work independently and remotely (leadership will be in Japan mostly)
- Commitment to meeting deadlines
- Fluency in Japanese (read, write, speak) and reasonable fluency in English
